Delft blue kissing couple
Design: Piet Design
Delft blue kissing dolls are the most famous Dutch souvenirs. Unfortunately, no one knows for sure how the cute set came to be.
Delftware has been popular since the 17th century, but the origin of these figures may go back further. They may represent the ‘Zoen van Delft’, ‘the reconciliation’ between Jacoba of Bavaria and Philip of Burgundy in 1428, which ended the Hoekse and Kabeljauwse quarrels.
Nowadays, the dolls in various combinations are also a symbol of Dutch tolerance.
Available in the versions Male-Female, Female-Female and Male-Male
The paper dolls are easy to assemble, without scissors or glue.
The height of the built dolls is about 9 cm.
