Flock of sheep
Designer: Piet Design
The oldest sheep breed in the Netherlands is the Drents Heideschaap. These small sheep are very self-reliant on the poor moors.
They were kept for wool and meat, but also mainly for manure. The Drenthe farmers needed the latter to turn sandy soils into fields, the so-called ‘essen’.
Today, herds of heath sheep are used for grazing in nature reserves.
Make your own miniature flock of sheep with this set.
