Flower pyramid

Design: Piet Design

Pyramid-shaped flower holders are the pinnacle of the Delft pottery industry. Not only is the stacked construction of these 17th century tulip vases impressive, the quality of the painting is also very high. All copies that are still in museums and art collections show a beautiful combination of chinoiserie and Dutch motifs.

Most flower pyramids were made in Delft at the end of the 17th century at the behest of Mary II, the English wife of William III, Stadtholder of the Netherlands and King of England from 1688 to 1702. Her predilection for flowers, gardens and Delft Blue pottery led to a large collection of flower holders that she housed in her many palaces in the Netherlands and England.

With this kit you can build a modern version of a Delft blue flower pyramid yourself. Fill with water and flowers.
